Uasin Gishu County Gets The Largest Share of NCPB Maize.


The National Cereals and Produce Board has released the quota of maize delivery in selected 12 counties with Uasin Gishu County getting the lion share, the maize rich county will supply 36% of the two million bags to be bought by the state.

Only three counties outside Rift Valley region made to the list, the move has sparked mixed reactions with farmers from Elgeyo Marakwet County saying their allocation is too minimal with Baringo County not making it to the list.

Maize delivery quota per county;
1.Uasin Gishu – 716,802 bags.
2.Tranzoia – 282,610 bags
3.Bungoma – 224, 091 bags
4.Nakuru – 150, 534 bags
5.Nandi – 140,948 bags
6.Narok – 130, 420 bags
7.Kakamega – 107,615 bags
8.Migori – 69,760 bags
9.Kericho – 53,806 bags
10.West Pokot – 48,677 bags
11.Elgeyo Marakwet – 47,555 bags
12.Laikipia – 27,162bags
