It is Thursday September 6th, 2018 at 4pm and 9 year old Maribel Kapolon, dressed in a blue dress with white stripes and in the company of her friends is walking home from her primary school; Consolata Primary school, Meru. Just as she’s approaching her home gate, a stranger calls her name thrice. She walks towards him and he gives her a lollipop and they walk away together. That was the last time her friends saw her.
It has been a most difficult time for family and friends as they have spent every hour looking for her with the help of police officers. The mother, Judy Cheptoo who works as a magistrate in Meru County is appealing to all members of the public to be on the look out and report any activity that may lead the police to her daughter. This can be done via her line 0727606237 or at the nearest police station.
“I don’t know why they chose her, but I hope she is fine wherever she is. I hope that she will be found soon and she will return home safe and sound,” She says on her Facebook page.
We hope for the best as we continue looking for Maribel.
