A war of words has erupted between former Ainabkoi MP Hon. Samuel Chepkong’a and his successor Hon. William Chepkut over remarks the latter recently made at a public function regarding the former’s appointment to parliament’s welfare committee. Hon. Chepkut insinuated that had he not lobbied and pleaded on his behalf, then Hon. Chepkong’a wouldn’t have landed the nomination.

“I thank H.E President Uhuru Kenyatta and H.E Deputy President William Ruto for heeding my wise counsel and appointing my fierce competitor and election loser Hon. Chepkong’a into the Parliamentary Service Committee,” said Hon. Chepkut.
These remarks didn’t go down well with Hon. Chepkong’a who insisted that he secured the appointment owing to his impressive CV and track record. He urged the Ainabkoi Member of Parliament to quit rumor mongering and instead focus his energies more on delivering on his election pledges to the people of Ainabkoi.
“Chepkut is a total liar. I did an interview and got 81.7% a whole 14 points more than my competitor. If indeed Chepkut lobbied for me as he claims, then I should be disqualified for unethical conduct. I have neither asked nor spoken to Chepkut an independent MP for any job.

He should instead look for employment for the hundreds of youth he promised to employ. He should stop abusing me and interfering with my application for employment and should instead fulfill on his electoral promises,” said a fuming Chepkong’a.
